2026
Alden Gilg, 2026 scholarship recipient
Thornton Academy
Alden Gilg

Alden's achievements are numerous. At the heart of his work is a deep love for music and a desire to express himself musically whenever possible. His primary instrument is violin, though he also plays oboe, bassoon, keyboard, and sings. He has performed with the Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra, his school's string trio, and at District and MMEA All-State Festivals.

Alden's inspiration to pursue music began with the Pineland Fiddlers, performing at contradances and folk concerts. Though he performs in traditional musical groups, he also creates them โ€” founding the TA String Trio at Thornton Academy, creating additional performance opportunities for himself and his peers.

Lily Dubois, 2026 scholarship recipient
Noble High School
Lily Dubois

Lily is an accomplished vocalist whose talent has earned her placement in the highest auditioned ensembles at Noble High School, as well as performances at the District One and MMEA All-State Festivals. She helped establish the Whole Note and Half Note Program for incoming 8th-grade students, creating a welcoming environment that encouraged participation and confidence.

Lily serves as a section leader for the Chamber Singers and Treble Choir and has served as a teacher's assistant for the past three years, accumulating more than 300 hours of community service โ€” an exceptional achievement reflecting her dedication to mentoring peers and supporting younger musicians.
